Sheffield Wednesday are on the verge of completing a deal for Monaco forward Anthony Musaba, who has already completed a medical ahead of the move.

That’s according to Le Parisien, who say the 22-year-old will sign a three-year contract with the Owls and join them in the Championship next season.

Sheffield Wednesday have already added five new players to their squad this summer following promotion last season, with three of those free transfers and Pol Valentin arriving in a €300,000 deal from Sporting Gijon.

They’re keen to keep building though in what is likely to be a tough fight against relegation under new manager Xisco next season and it seems they’re closing in on their latest recruit in that regard.

Le Parisien report that Musaba is set to join on a free transfer from Monaco, although the Ligue 1 side will retain a 20% option on any future resale.

According to the newspaper’s information, Musaba has already passed the required medical tests ahead of the move and will sign a three year deal at Hillsborough in due course.

He’ll join a Sheffield Wednesday squad that’s already seen Ashley Fletcher join the likes of Callum Paterson, Michael Smith and Lee Gregory up front so it remains to be seen how much game time he can get ahead of them in the coming months.
