Barcelona are hoping Ansu Fati can star at Brighton & Hove Albion, so they can sell him in the next summer transfer window.

That’s according to Sport, who say the Catalans desperately need a big sale next summer to help balance the books.

The newspaper explains that the salary limit at the Camp Nou is currently tight, so ‘a great sale’ is required to provide them with breathing room moving forwards.

The ‘main idea’ is to sell Fati, who they have loaned to Brighton this season in the hope he can rediscover his old form and ‘show his best level’.

He is yet to do that and appears to be having a ‘hard time adapting’ to life under Roberto De Zerbi but the hope is that he will soon establish himself and start to shine, thus increasing his value and his number of suitors.

The forward is considered an ‘asset’ to be sold by Barcelona either way, but Brighton can help him to become a bigger one and thus secure a greater sale next summer.

There’s no mention of a permanent sale to Brighton, interestingly, but if Fati does impress they will surely be among those trying to convince him. The good news is that if they do fancy a permanent deal, Barcelona will be open to it.
