Chelsea may be making a move to bring Thomas Tuchel back to the club to replace Mauricio Pochettino this summer.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb and journalist Andrea Losapio, who cover the ever-changing managerial market today and how Chelsea may make an ‘inexplicable’ move for their former coach.
They explain that recent talk of Antonio Conte potentially returning to Stamford Bridge may be wide of the mark as he actually wants to return to Italy.
And he’s not the former coach Chelsea are looking at anyway as they are in fact ‘targeting’ Tuchel, who is set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season.
They label that such a move would be ‘inexplicable’ decision given what happened between the two parties in the past, but well, Chelsea have a penchant for being a bit madcap these days.
There’s no mention of whether Tuchel would be interested in the return, although numerous reports in recent months have hinted, he’d love a second shot at the Premier League and loved his time in London too.
TMW say it’s very much a topic to be discussed at a later date, with Conte currently at the forefront of thoughts it seems, but don’t be surprised if there’s more of this to come in the coming weeks.
