Arsenal’s growing interest in Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee is bad news for AC Milan, who know they can’t compete with the Gunners.
That’s according to Milan Live, who say Arsenal are very much an ‘obstacle’ in the Serie A giants way to getting their man.
They explain that Zirkzee is the man of the moment in Italy and will be the man of the summer too, with his performances and explosion at Bologna not going unnoticed around Europe.
AC Milan, Juventus and Napoli are all following him inside Italy and the former considers him the ideal signing as Olivier Giroud is off to America. The whole club agree he’d be brilliant and want to make it happen.
But the striker is ‘respected and appreciated’ abroad, first and foremost by Arsenal, who are ‘ready to pounce’ on the Dutchman.
Mikel Arteta wants a striker this summer and believes Zirkzee is the ideal profile for what he is looking for.
Their financial power would put them ahead of AC Milan too, as they can not only match Bologna’s €50m demands but also offer a higher wage packet to the player and his entourage.
Their focus is very much on Zirkzee and trying to take him to the Premier League, which is seen as bad news for Milan, who know it will be difficult to compete with whatever the Gunners are ready to offer and the charms of the Premier League.
