Should Mauricio Pochettino still be interested in signing Bruma, then the transfer could be handed to him on a plate. After repeated attempts to try and get Bruma to sign a new contract, Galatasaray are now accepting they’re likely going to have to sell him.

Fanatik and others in Turkey report Galatasaray are looking for an offer of €15m, having to ask for less than they’d like because the player’s contract ends in June 2018.

That figure is rather convenient for Pochettino and Tottenham, given January reports in Turkey that Spurs had tabled a €15m offer. Galatasaray at that stage were confident they’d be able to get Bruma to sign a renewal, even though it had been reported the player had asked to be allowed to join Tottenham.

Bruma has arguably been Galatasaray’s best player this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 8 assists. The 22 year old has played mainly on the left, but can also operate on the right and through the middle.

With uncertainty surrounding the future of Erik Lamela, Portugal U21 international Bruma could be a good option for Pochettino. The Tottenham manager has tried to add pace to his wings with Clinton N’Jie and Georges-Kévin N’Koudou, but neither of those plans worked.

It’s an interesting opportunity for Tottenham to sign a good young player who is very keen to move to the Premier League.

In November Cátio Baldé, Bruma’s agent, told Sport Witness: “There are English and German clubs who follow Bruma weekly. What’s happened is that there hasn’t been an advance until now. Anything can happen in December. He wants to play in the Premier League and he’s sure he’ll be bought.”
