The visit made by Nottingham Forest fullback Renan Lodi to his former club Athletico Paranaense continues to be the reason for many transfer stories in Brazil.

Since his wife had already hinted about his return to the South American side, there was a lot of gossip about his potential move.

The transfer was recently ruled out by his agent, who interviewed by Globo Esporte, claimed there’s ‘no chance’ of that move, saying there had been no contact with Athletico Paranaense president Mario Celso Petragglia.

However, in new story from Goal Brasil, it’s claimed that Lodi was actually offered to the Brazilian club.

The website writes that the Nottingham Forest player did speak to Petragglia to make his return possible. However, his price is said to be too big.

For now, it isn’t clear whether the Reds are on board with that operation, since they have him on loan from Atletico Madrid until the end of the season.

As pointed out by Goal Brasil, Nottingham Forest already paid €5m for the loan, and have an option to buy him for another €30m, so it’d be strange to see them breaking his spell without receiving any compensation for it, unless they do not count on the player.
