After some claims from England that West Ham United wanted Paulo Fonseca to replace David Moyes, the French media are all backing it up.

On Friday, we saw Foot01 come forward reporting the Hammers had already made contact with the player’s agent, making it clear they absolutely wanted him.

Well, we now have Foot Mercato backing that up on Friday, reporting much of the same, stating that the interest from West Ham in Fonseca is ‘confirmed’.

The London club ‘want him for next season’, and his agent, Marco Abreu, has already been approached by the Premier League side.

In fact, a ‘new contact is planned at the end of the season’ because the manager is now focusing on Lille for the moment, wanting to ensure the Ligue 1 side finish their campaign as strongly as possible.

That’s all they say for the moment through their journalist Santi Aouna, but that’s now two sources in France backing up the claims from England, suggesting there really is a fire somewhere with all this smoke, and West Ham are clearly planning their future without David Moyes.
