Liverpool have reportedly made an attempt to sign Palmeiras youngster Luis Guilherme.
That’s revealed by Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, who claims that the Reds ‘proposed’ an amount of €20m to seal a deal.
The reporter claims that Liverpool aren’t the only club to be offering that, with AS Monaco making an identical bid. As it stands, both have been turned down by Palmeiras.
It’s said the Brazilian club’s idea is to make €50m from the youngster. They know this isn’t the time to achieve such a big sale with him, but are convinced he’ll be worth that much once he becomes a regular starter at the club.
Luís Guilherme, who turned 18-years-of-age in February, has 37 appearances for Palmeiras so far. Last night, he scored his first goal for the club, and that was in some style, as he found the late winner in their 3-2 victory over Independiente Del Valle in a Copa Libertadores away game.
It’s worth recalling that the Verdão have Endrick moving to Real Madrid this summer, and have been getting several approaches for Estevão William as well. Their academy talents are giving bringing them big profit, so there’s no rush to sell Luís Guilherme to Liverpool or any other interested club.
