As covered by Sport Witness earlier today, Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus revealed that he recently received an invitation to take charge of Everton.
Speaking to Sportv, the coach claimed he’s used to ‘winning titles, not games’, and that’s why he turned down his first chance of working in the Premier League.
Everton fans obviously weren’t happy to see such a strong statement from the manager, and it seems that some players didn’t like it either. So on Instagram, Toffees’ star Richarlison was quick sending Jesus a response.
“Should know a little of Everton’s history”, said Richarlison on Instagram. “Be careful with the arrogance, huh.”
Jorge Jesus claimed that the approach made by Everton happened when he left Benfica at the end of 2020. Despite the many titles won for the Lisbon giants in the past, he did not conquer any trophies for the Eagles in this recent spell.
According to recent stories from the Brazilian and Portuguese media, the manager is now in advanced talks to take charge of Turkish side Fenerbahce, where he’ll hope to be in contention for titles.
