Barcelona forward Raphinha is very much ‘on the exit ramp’ at the club amid Newcastle United’s efforts to secure his signature.

That’s according to Sport, who say that only Ousmane Dembele and Robert Lewandowski are guaranteed to remain at the Camp Nou next season.

The newspaper states that Ansu Fati, Raphinha and Ferrán Torres have all been put on Barcelona’s transfer list, with them clear they need to remove players from the squad before they can add to it.

The plan is to add a top-level left winger to Xavi’s team but first they need to balance the books with sales and Raphinha is one of those who will be moved.

He has ‘a market’ in England after his time with Leeds and Newcastle are one of the sides who are ‘bidding’ for him.

That’s something which has been developing over recent weeks, with it explained that they are willing to pay a lot of money to sign him and that his agent is working to convince him on the move to St James’ Park.

Their chances now appear to have been given a boost as Barcelona have put him on the transfer list and made it clear he is not ‘essential’ for the next stage of their project.

Thus, now appears to be the time for Newcastle to formally make their move, with a deal absolutely there to be done given Barcelona’s desire to sell.
