While Elia Caprile stopped being a Leeds United player in the summer, his future remains interesting to the Elland Road side due to the nature of the deal they struck with Bari.

The Premier League club knew they probably weren’t going to get a lot for him, and agreed to sell him on for a paltry fee, but they were also aware of his potential, which is why they smartly added a 50% resale clause in it.

That means half of whatever Bari sell him for will go straight to Leeds, and the great news is he’s excelling with the Serie B side.

It has been said that Napoli are keen to buy him in January, and while that would be great news for the Whites, that’s not what his current side have in mind.

Tutto Bari have an article on the matter on Friday, explaining that Bari’s ‘objective remains unchanged’, which is to ‘try and keep’ both Caprile and Walid Cheddira ‘until June’, at which point they will ‘make the most of their sale’.

Both Leeds and Parma (the Morocco international’s former club) are set to receive 50% of a future fee, and that’s why the Serie B side ‘will aim to collect significant sums’ in the summer.

This is exactly what Victor Orta will have had in mind when he sold Caprile, and it appears to be working out just the way he wanted it to.
