Despite Hugo Lloris being contracted to Tottenham until the end of next season, it remains to be seen if the Frenchman will stay until then.

The goalkeeper will represent France at the World Cup in Qatar before finishing the current campaign with Spurs, at which point he will be 36 years of age.

That could be a good time for him to return to his home country, leaving Tottenham in need of a replacement for the number one spot.

Fraser Forster is not that man, which is why a few names have started to circulate on the transfer market, including that of Guglielmo Vicario, current at Empoli.

He has impressed a lot in Serie A, and has attracted a fair bit of attention, including from Tottenham if Gazzetta dello Sport are to be believed.

The newspaper look at who could take over from Wojciech Szczesny at Juventus, and put forward Vicario as a player the Italian giants are looking at, naming Spurs and Roma as other interested parties.

It’s said Juventus are ‘preparing to take action in January’, just in order to get ahead of a potential summer battle for the 26-year-old’s services.

The idea would be them to ‘burn the competition’ with plenty of time, which is when Tottenham are mentioned, especially with Fabio Paratici at the helm of transfer related matters.

Something to keep an eye on, because we all know Lloris, as good as he has been over his many years in London, will not last forever.
