Former Everton man Nikola Vlašić returned to England when West Ham United signed him from CSKA Moscow in 2021.

The attacking midfielder failed to shine for the Hammers last season and joined Torino on a loan deal in the summer transfer window. The Serie A side retain an option to make his stay permanent.

At Torino, the 25-year-old has been successful in overcoming his disappointing spell at West Ham.

Operating in various attacking positions this season, the Croatia international has scored four goals and registered three assists from 16 matches. Although the numbers don’t stand out, his performances have been impressive.

Tuttosport state the West Ham owned player had an ‘excellent impact’ at Torino and is the ‘one who has had the highest performance’ so far this season.

That’s why Urbano Cairo, the Italian club’s chairman, is now studying how to buy Vlašić from David Moyes’ side.

The buying option is set at €15m. Although this is ‘a lot’, the figure could be considered ‘very low’ if the player’s value is taken into account, and, at this point, it’s clear that Torino want to retain Vlašić beyond his loan deal.

Therefore, they will need to cough up the cash somehow.
