According to Sdna.GR, Greek Super League club Apollon Smirnis were interested in signing Idrissa Sylla from Queens Park Rangers, but it looks like the player will be joining Waregem.

The Greek website today report Apollon were looking to sign the Guinean striker and they invited him to Athens to finalise the deal.

Sdna.GR report Apollon officials were confident about signing the player and they were hoping to complete the deal in the coming days.

However, there are reports in the English media today the QPR man is on the verge of joining Waregem and was set to have a medical today.

Sylla joined QPR from Belgian side Anderlecht for €3m at the start of 2016/17 season and it seems his time in England has come to an end. The forward previously had a spell with the Dutch club.

The player has only played 96 minutes of Championship football this season for QPR and has failed to score.
