In our Friday Samu Saiz to Leeds United update we explained the deal hasn’t been as imminent as some have suggested.
False claims earlier in the week of a medical being booked, and Saiz travelling to England, have pushed the transfer along further than it ever was, and assumption has gradually been treated as fact.
It was reported in Spain that Huesca’s asking price is €3.5m, and then within a day it was also reported that Leeds United had made an offer, with assumption, perhaps on its own, then making this offer €3.5m.
Everything sorted, he should have been a Leeds United player on Wednesday.
There is now a concrete update from Spain, as Huesca director Jose Luis Ortas telling Cope: “There is a significant offer from Leeds United for Samu Saiz but it’s not certain that he goes there, there are more offers.”
Things are still edging towards Leeds, with Mundo Deportivo pointing that out but also saying Eibar remain in the race.
Leeds may well have satisfied Saiz financially, but it would appear Huesca aren’t 100% convinced yet.
