It seems Julen Lopetegui could find a great job opportunity following his exit from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.

That’s a rumour that comes from Spain, where the Luis Rubiales circus, and all the damage he’s done, continues followed by the media.

Estadio Deportivo today reports that the RFEF is set to have big changes, not only in women’s football, but in men’s as well.

National team manager Luis De La Fuente, who had been seen applauding Rubiales, is one of those who should lose their jobs. His apologies were apparently not enough to keep him in charge.

As Estadio Deportivo lists a couple of coaches who could take the position, former Wolves boss Lopetegui gets a mention.

The outlet points out that the manager is only without a job because he couldn’t agree with Wolverhampton’s board, who are ‘no longer interested in investing more than necessary’.

Lopetegui recently turned down the chance to take charge of Villarreal, and the national team could be the kind of big job he’s looking for.

There had been some bad blood between him and Rubiales, who sacked him just before the 2018 World Cup due to his agreement with Real Madrid. Now with the previous power-holder gone, it’s said the coach could ‘welcome’ a surprise return to the national team.
