Manchester United completed the signing of Chido Obi-Martin on a free transfer last month.
The 16-year-old’s contract at Arsenal expired in the summer and he was without a club for a few months before his move to Manchester United was ratified.
Obi-Martin has scored four goals and registered an assist from four matches for Manchester United U18s this season.
According to Tipsbladet, the Denmark U18 international will soon sign his first professional contract with the Red Devils.
A youngster can’t sign a professional deal with an English club until he turns 17-years-of-age and Obi-Martin will celebrate his 17th birthday on Friday. That’s the day he will sign a new contract at Manchester United and the announcement is on the way.
The Danish outlet have stated that this information was confirmed to them by the Premier League side.
New Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim promoted several youngsters from the academy to the first team during his time at Sporting, so that provides hope for players coming through.
Obi-Martin scored 32 goals and registered three assists from 18 games for Arsenal U18 last season.
