There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta has been offered to Fenerbahce.
It’s likely the Super Lig side will be in the market for a forward in January, with the possibility of both Edin Dzeko and Youssef En-Nesyri not being at the club next season.
Sabah today report on Fenerbahce’s dilemma in attack after reports Saudi club Al-Nassr have come in with a substantial offer for summer signing En-Nesyri.
It’s reported the Istanbul side have yet to make a decision on whether to accept this bid, but with Dzeko’s contract also expiring at the end of the season they will likely need to sign a new centre forward in the new year.
The Turkish media outlet say Fenerbahce are now evaluating whether to proceed after being offered the Crystal Palace player. It’s also claimed former Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic is also an option for the Yellow Canaries.
Mateta has made 15 appearances for the Eagles this season, scoring five goals. He’s contracted to the Premier League side until June 2026.
There’s no indication of who has offered Mateta to Fener, although it’s likely to be agents. Whether they’re connected to the player or simply trying to build a deal they can profit from is unknown.
