Marko Grujic to Lazio was a big story for about two days, and then it disappeared into the depths of the transfer rumour mill, close to being forgotten by all.
However, Corriere dello Sport on Wednesday aren’t ready to let that happen just yet, mentioning Liverpool’s Serbian midfielder at the bottom of an article when discussing the non-EU spots at the Serie A side’s disposal.
At the moment, discussions between the Reds and Lazio don’t appear to be particularly active, but that doesn’t mean Igli Tare isn’t still keen on the 23-year-old, especially since Lucas Leiva isn’t getting any younger.
The Lazio director of football sees Grujic as a good rotation option for Leiva, and depending on what goes on with their striker hunt and the non-EU spot, he could come back and ‘insist’ for the midfielder’s signature in the near future.
