Wolves defender Ladislav Krejci is ‘the player chosen’ by Real Sociedad to bolster their defence this summer.
Noticias de Gipuzkoa report that the Spanish side have already opened negotiations with Wolves over a deal for the Czech defender.
Bid in at Wolves
According to their information, confirmed after reports in England, La Real are negotiating the signing of the Czech international this summer. A bid has already been submitted but is considered too low by the Championship club.
Contact between the clubs may have begun before the World Cup. Real president Jokin Aperribay and director of football Erik Bretos recently travelled to Portugal, where Wolves were for a friendly match. While there they negotiated the signing of Ladislav Krejci.
Those talks continued when the two sides faced each other in a pre-season friendly in England. Krejci did not participate in that game.
While reports have stated Wolves consider Sociedad’s offer to be too low, Noticias de Gipuzkoa argue that relations between the two clubs are good.
Wolves relationship key
The two clubs successfully negotiated a deal for Gonçalo Guedes’ last summer. in fact, Wolves ‘facilitated’ that move by accepting a €4m offer despite the Portuguese forward being value significantly higher.
The hope is that they will do the same for Ladislav Krejci. He is likely to be a replacement for Duje Caleta-Car after his loan spell at the Spanish side came to an end. He is not the only option on Sociedad’s list, though.
If his price ultimately exceeds the financial parameters at the club, their sporting management has other options in sights to reinforce their defensive options. There is no mention of the limitations that they have set at this moment in time.
Nor is there any mention of Krejci’s asking price at Molineux. He cost them €23m not long ago, though, so there’s every chance that Wolves will want to make as much of that back as possible.
