Bazoumana Touré has been backed to make a big and quick impression at Newcastle United following his arrival this summer.
Arouna Koné believes that the €47m signing from TSG Hoffenheim is set to be a major hit at St James Park. He’s been speaking to 225 Foot regarding the 20-year-old, and the impact he thinks he’ll have at the Magpies.
“Making such a significant move to a club like Newcastle requires exceptional mental strength and tactical maturity at that age,” he said.
“What has impressed me most about Bazoumana since his debut is his complete lack of inhibition. He hasn’t hesitated for a second to take players on with the ball at his feet, utilize his explosive first step, and force even highly experienced defenders onto the back foot.
“The goal he scored in the EFL Cup against West Bromwich already demonstrates his composure in the danger zone.”
Newcastle set up ideal
The former striker is particularly encouraged about the manner in which Newcastle play under new manager Matthias Jaissle. He believes that the German’s system is perfect for the player.
“It is a setup tailor-made for Bazoumana,” he added.
“He possesses the rare ability to accelerate with the ball glued to his feet. If he maintains this consistent work rate and unselfishness in the final third, he will quickly become an indispensable part of the attack.”
National team hopes
The Ivorian has other concerns when it comes to the youngster. He is also considering the impact that Newcastle can have elsewhere. In particular, he is hoping is helps one of the Ivory Coast’s best up and coming talents.
“Seeing a 20-year-old make his mark and get Newcastle fans on their feet is excellent news for the Elephants,” he concluded.
“The national team needs dynamic wingers capable of making the difference at any moment with a burst of speed. Bazoumana is gaining top-level tactical experience in England, and this will directly benefit Ivorian football.”
