West Ham are attempting to hijack Fulham’s efforts to sign Ricardo Pepi, as the Premier League side explore a late move for the PSV striker.

Reports from Spanish outlet AS state that Fulham remain in advanced talks with the Dutch club, but West Ham have now made an informal approach to assess the situation.

Fulham have worked on the deal for several days and negotiations with PSV are reportedly close to a conclusion. The Cottagers have already submitted an offer worth around £27m (€32m). That proposal is on the table in Eindhoven and is viewed positively so far. Fulham want Pepi as part of a long-term plan and see him as a striker to lead their project.

However, West Ham are trying to disrupt those talks. The Hammers have made a fresh enquiry and are weighing up a late bid before the window closes. Ricardo Pepi is not a new target for the club. Last summer, West Ham offered £21m (€25m) for the forward, but PSV turned that proposal down.

The situation at West Ham remains fluid. Despite recent attacking additions, the club still monitor the market closely. Internal discussions around potential outgoing deals also keep options open. Pepi’s profile continues to appeal to the recruitment department, even if Fulham stay ahead for now.

At PSV, Ricardo Pepi has grown into a leading figure under Peter Bosz. He moved on from the impact substitute label and became the coach’s main striker. This season, he has eight goals and two assists in 22 appearances, despite missing time with a broken arm.

With Fulham pushing and West Ham circling, Pepi’s next step now depends on PSV’s final call.
