History

Founded in 1863 (or 1868) as Stoke Ramblers, Stoke City is one of the world’s oldest professional football clubs, becoming a founder member of the Football League in 1888. Nicknamed “The Potters,” the club won their major honor, the League Cup, in 1972 and enjoyed a 10-year Premier League spell from 2008 to 2018, reaching the 2011 FA Cup Final.
