Player told how to get Arsenal’s attention – Work on for Gunners transfer

Feyenoord rising star Luciano Valente has been advised to take the careful, deliberate route with his career, to ensure Arsenal come calling in future.

Analyst René van der Gijp provides the advice today. He thinks the 22-year-old should follow Mohamed Kudus’ route to the Premier League.

Perform well for Arsenal

He was asked on that if he thinks that Valente will reach the top level. He’s not convinced that he will.

“I mean, I don’t think Valente is going to become as good as Jude Bellingham; I really don’t think so,” he said.

He points to Kudus as an example. His argument is that Valente needs to play his way into the Dutch national team’s starting line up before he gets a big move.

“Even if it’s just like Kudus – where, say, you go to West Ham United and perform so well that Arsenal signs you,” he added.

“I don’t really believe he’ll go straight to the top. He needs to make a stopover first – provided he gets a starting spot for Oranje. That’s when clubs like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Arsenal become interested in a player.”

Arsenal scouts not watching

Van der Gijp believes that getting into the Netherlands team is key, simply because Arsenal scouts won’t be heading to the Netherlands to watch games week in, week out.

“Arsenal scouts don’t go to a match like Zwolle versus Feyenoord,” he concluded.

“I still believe that Santiago Gimenez owes his transfer (to AC Milan) to that single goal against Bayern Munich. I am truly convinced of that. Valente needs that bit of luck.”

Whether that bit of luck comes in the coming months, remains to be seen. But Valente is certainly making a positive impression, having already been named as Feyenoord’s captain despite being just 22.

That’s not gone unnoticed, and perhaps it won’t take long before those sides below Arsenal are making their moves.
