Inter Milan have moved to sign Genoa full-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy, so they don’t lose out on him to Everton.
That’s according to Tuttosport. The newspaper covers a sudden move from Inter for Norton-Cuffy today.
According to their information, Inter Milan have opened new contacts with Genoa for the full-back. This move is to ‘beat Juventus and Everton’ to his signature.
They want a replacement for Denzel Dumfries and consider the English winger as a ‘Dumfries clone’. They want to beat the competition, Everton and Juventus, to his signature.
That duo had being eyeing up loan deals with an option to buy but Inter are instead offering a permanent transfer. Contacts are underway with Genoa to try and make the move happen now, and as soon as possible.
There is clearly a worry from the Milan club that they could lose out on the defender if they are not quick.
That perhaps comes after reports yesterday that Everton were ‘poised to attack’ for the defender. Those were followed by claims that Genoa were now open to letting him go, even on loan. Such a deal would have been perfect for Everton, who want to save as much money for the summer as possible.
Indeed, Genoa’s stance was almost like an invitation for Everton to make their move. Inter Milan certainly seem to have seen it as such. Now they’re pushing themselves to the front of the queue with a permanent bid instead.
