Everton could be presented with the opportunity to get Brooke Norton-Cuffy on loan, with Genoa open to such a proposal.
That’s according to Tuttomercatoweb. The website reports that the Italian side haven’t closed the door to such a proposal before the end of the month.
A report today from Italy stated that Everton were ‘poised to strike’ for Norton-Cuffy before deadline day. The feeling was that they are better placed than West Ham to sign him from Genoa this month.
The Toffees are in desperate need of a new right-back and have been for several years. Nathan Patterson has returned to the role in recent weeks but is not seen as the long-term solution by most.
Norton-Cuffy is one of several names on their list. Everton, though, have seemingly been reluctant to step forward. Reports in England have stated they prefer loan deals in this window so they can spend big in the summer.
Everton could get loan + option

Well, a loan deal may now be on offer. TMW report that Genoa would be open to such a deal under certain conditions.
According to their information, while Genoa don’t want to lose Norton-Cuffy this month, that’s dependent on the offers. They’ll consider selling if the total offered is at least €20m.
A loan deal is also on the table. For that to happen, it would have to be €4-5m for the initial loan and include a €15m purchase option. That would, ultimately, lead the deal to a total of €20m.
Now, TMW present this information as they say Juventus are also keen on the defender. But it should make for interesting reading for Everton too if they’re as keen as reports suggest.
A loan deal until the summer would suit them perfectly, allowing them to strengthen on the cheap this month before looking at it in the summer.
