Nottingham Forest are considering a move for Hibernian’s Rocky Bushiri in the winter market.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who cover the Reds’ interest and Hibs stance on the 25-year-old.
Nottingham Forest are said to have identified the Hibernian player as a priority target as they look for defensive reinforcements in January.
The centre-back has made 16 appearances and even managed four goals and an assist this season. His performances have caught the Premier League side’s attention.
Nottingham Forest have made initial contact with Hibernian for the Belgium-born DR Congo international.
It’s claimed Hibernian have given Nottingham Forest’s recruitment team permission to hold talks with the defender. His contract with the Scottish club is until 2028 but Africa Foot states the player is open to changing clubs in January.
A source close to the player has told the outlet that Nottingham Forest’s ‘interest is real’.
The same source also said: ‘He would be delighted to take the next step in his career by joining the Premier League club.’
The report says Transfermarkt currently value him at €1m, and don’t mention Hibernian’s request. Africa Foot also don’t specify the fee Sean Dyche’s side are willing to offer.
Bushiri was at Norwich City between 2019 and 2022 and left them without making an appearance.
