Brighton & Hove Albion’s Yasin Ayari has successfully managed to a cement a place in Fabian Hürzeler’s side.

The Sweden international started this season as a substitute before being included in the Seagulls’ starting lineup regularly since October.

He started six games in a row for Brighton before missing out against Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

The Seagulls suffered a humiliating 7-0 defeat to Nuno Espírito Santo’s side and were without both Ayari and Carlos Baleba for this clash. There were repots of muscle injuries for the duo.

Fotboll Direkt have covered this and provide their own information on Ayari’s injury situation.

They explain there’s ‘nothing serious’ with the 21-yer-old’s injury and he missed the clash against Nottingham Forest due to a minor strain. The Brighton player didn’t want to risk making it worse.

Ayari’s absence was more of a precautionary measure than a serious concern. The report adds the Swede is expected to ‘be back shortly’, but there’s no mention of any timeframe.

It remains to be seen whether Ayari will be fit for to face Chelsea in the FA Cup this weekend.
