Rumours linking Liverpool to new Hoffenheim star Bazoumana Touré have gotten everyone very excited at his former club Hammarby.
That’s according to Fotboll Direkt, who cover the situation today and comments from their sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg, who can already see the cash register ringing.
They explain that Bazoumana Touré is enjoying success at Hoffenheim this season after joining them in a €10m deal from Hammarby in the January transfer window.
He’s managed two assists in four games this season and earned plenty of rave reviews since his arrival at the start of February.
This has been noticed and several reports, all from Liverpool based supporters’ websites, have credited the Reds with an interest. According to these reports, Liverpool have identified Toure as the next Roberto Firmino, despite the fact he predominantly plays on the wings.
That ‘spectacular information’ has made its way back to Sweden and Hammarby, where they’re now waiting to see if Liverpool or any other big clubs make a move for him in future.
They’d be more than happy if they did as it would mean further financial returns, something Hjelmberg was happy to confirm when asked.
“Yes, it absolutely does,” he said when asked if it meant further financial profit.
“If that were to happen, it would be an excellent testament to our scouting and development activities. As well as a great joy and pride for the person and the player Bazou.
“He has been impressive. I am extremely happy for him. Yes, we are in regular contact.”
