Everton‘s Adam Aznou has quickly impressed since joining Málaga CF on loan on August 31st.
In summer 2025, the 20-year-old joined Everton and finished his debut season with only 42 minutes from two appearances. Those appearances were in the EFL Cup and FA Cup.
The restricted role under David Moyes convinced him to leave Everton for the La Liga side.
Earlier this month, Aznou revealed he spoke to Málaga sporting director Loren even before they secured promotion to the top flight. The move went through late in the window because Moyes had to give the green light.
Excitement around Everton man
Adam Aznou joined the Toffees after spending three years at Bayern Munich. His preferred role is left-back while he also played as a winger for the German giants’ youth teams.
Earlier this month, Bild journalist Nico Linner said the Everton star-boy was “on the same level” as Barcelona star Lamine Yamal when he arrived at Bayern Munich.
He said: “I remember when he arrived at Bayern in the summer of 2022 as one of Spanish football’s top prospects – on the same level as Lamine Yamal. A huge talent.”
“He made significant strides and showed glimpses of his ability. At Everton… the physical step-up was massive, and he had a tough year. Now, I know he is absolutely eager to prove his level and get playing time.”
The Spain-born Morocco international is now living up that hype at his new club. That’s according to Radio Marca Málaga, who provide an insight into his early weeks at the La Liga side.

Everton owned player impressing in training
Málaga have faith in the versatile player and their coaching staff, led by manager Juan Francisco Funes, are confident he can be a starter this season. The early impressions will only give hope Adam Aznou to excel at the Spanish club.
The report states he has left ‘a very good first impression’ on his new teammates. They are ‘amazed by his technical ability’ and are warning others to watch out for the Everton man.
He has to compete with Jorge Salinas for the left-back spot. The outlet states: ‘The battle for the full-back position is on. Aznou is gaining popularity within the club, and Salinas is clearly on the rise.’
Salinas was linked with Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Manchester United during the summer.
Funes can also utilise the Toffees owned player in an attacking position if needed.
