Jose Bordalás has downplayed any talk about his future amid reports of interest from Crystal Palace. He has insisted that he’s “solely focused” on Getafe.

Several outlets have linked the Getafe boss to Crystal Palace ahead of the summer.

Oliver Glasner is expected to leave Selhurst Park at the end of the season.

The Eagles are already hunting for a replacement. But Bordalás’s latest comments offer a firm message on where his attention lies right now.

“I don’t look to the future; I look to the present. I’m focused solely and exclusively on the match at the Metropolitano and on the team,” he told AS.

“I’m not worried about my future. Atlético is a team that always improves when it rotates its squad because the players on the bench are of the same level or even better.”

Why Crystal Palace Are Being Linked With Bordalás

Several reports name Bordalás as a potential Crystal Palace candidate.

A report on December 16th from various sources, explained that Bordalás was the leading candidate for Crystal Palace. He’s currently set to be a free agent himself as his current deal expires at that point.

The rumour started to grow from there.  Crystal Palace’s hierarchy reportedly hold Bordalás in high regard.

Journalists then questioned Bordalás directly on the rumours the following day. He, though, refused to be drawn on the matter at the time. That’s a stance he’s clearly maintaining.

Getafe president Ángel Torres publicly dismissed the idea at their Christmas party, which Bordalás then had to respond to.

Would Bordalás’ Style Work at Crystal Palace?

While Bordalás publicly distances himself from the speculation, Palace’s interest reflects the club’s push for a tactically disciplined, high‑intensity coach — traits the Getafe boss is known for.

The biggest question isn’t whether Crystal Palace admire Bordalás, it’s whether supporters would accept the dramatic stylistic shift his appointment would bring.

While both like defensive solidity, Glasner is more of a modern, progressive coach while critics have labelled Bordalás an ‘anti‑football’ specialist.

That would mean a major change for Crystal Palace this summer, if they were to look in Bordalás’ direction once Glasner departs.
