Celtic are looking at adding SV Elversberg’s Younes Ebnoutalib to Wilfried Nancy’s squad in the winter market.
The striker has scored 11 goals from 18 matches for the second division German club and has caught the attention of several sides.
Bild cover Celtic interest in a report that mainly focuses on Eintracht Frankfurt’s desire to sign him. The 22-year-old, who was born in Frankfurt, is open to joining the Bundesliga side. There are concrete discussions ongoing over his personal terms.
Elversberg have set a €10m demand, which Eintracht Frankfurt aren’t willing to match. Their plan is to sign him for €5m plus bonuses.
Bild claim Elversberg are confident of collecting €10m as there are other clubs ‘working on a move’ for Ebnoutalib. This includes Union Berlin, Celtic and Villarreal.
Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share more on this.
He reports Eintracht Frankfurt continue to push but there’s no agreement with Elversberg, who are demanding €10m.
Berger adds Sevilla, Celtic and Anderlecht have ‘entered the race’ to secure the attacker’s services and another unnamed Bundesliga side are also keen. The case is open and the outcome is yet to be clarified.
To sum it up, Nancy’s side are working on signing Ebnoutalib in January. With Eintracht Frankfurt pushing, Celtic have to step up quickly to beat them and others in the transfer race.
