Everton have joined the list of Premier League clubs interested in Vitor Roque, although the Palmeiras striker is having a very different year from the one that first attracted attention from England.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham have explored the possibility of signing the Brazilian over the past year, without taking their interest any further. Now Everton are looking at a potential move in 2027.

The price, however, hasn’t changed much. Palmeiras still want at least €50m (£44m) for the 21-year-old, despite his struggles with injuries and a considerable drop in playing time.

Everton enter the picture as Palmeiras maintain their demands

Brazilian insider Diego Firmino reports that Everton are interested in signing Vitor Roque in 2027. He explains that Palmeiras won’t even open negotiations for anything below €50m (£44m).

The Brazilian club have good reason to protect their investment. They paid Barcelona €25.5m (£22.4m), plus potential bonuses, for 80% of the striker’s economic rights. The Catalan side retained the remaining 20%.

His contract runs until December 2029, so Palmeiras have little contractual pressure to accept a lower offer.

That gives Everton a fairly expensive starting point. And while the striker’s potential remains obvious, his recent performances make that valuation worth examining.

Vitor Roque’s numbers tell a different story in 2026

The Brazilian enjoyed an excellent 2025, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists in 51 appearances. He played 3,548 minutes and became one of Abel Ferreira’s most important attacking players.

This year has been much harder. Roque has managed nine goals and one assist in 39 appearances, playing just 1,993 minutes. That’s around 44% fewer minutes than last season, with his scoring frequency also dropping from one goal every 177 minutes to one every 221.

There is, however, a fair explanation. The striker suffered an ankle problem early in 2026 and continued playing through discomfort for several weeks. He eventually underwent surgery on his left ankle, spending approximately three months on the sidelines between April and July.

Since returning, he hasn’t consistently enjoyed the same playing time or attacking effectiveness. Full matches have become less common, and the explosive form that made him such a valuable asset last year hasn’t fully returned.

Still, there have been important contributions. Vitor Roque continues to score useful goals and offers plenty of work rate, even when things aren’t quite clicking in front of goal.

A different proposition for Everton

Everton’s interest comes with an interesting question over timing. English interest were previously noted when Vitor Roque’s stock was much higher. The Toffees are now considering a player whose reputation remains strong, but whose recent numbers have suffered.

His previous experience at Barcelona and Real Betis also means this wouldn’t be his first attempt at European football.

Palmeiras, meanwhile, have maintained their financial expectations despite the difficult season. With Barcelona still holding a share of his rights, the Brazilian club also have an additional financial consideration in any potential sale.

For now, the interest concerns 2027. That gives Vitor Roque time to recover his best form and Everton an opportunity to assess whether the player who scored 20 goals last year is returning. At €50m (£44m), they’d certainly want to see more of that version.
