Bought last season from Atalanta for £18m, Timothy Castagne had a decent first season at Leicester City.

Appearing 27 times in the league, the right-back walked away with two goals and three assists, and was picked by Roberto Martinez for the Euro 2020 squad.

He was unfortunately sidelined for the vast majority of the tournament with a fracture of his eye orbit, but returned to start in the Premier League clash against Norwich City, which the Foxes won 2-1.

He’s since played against both Manchester City and Brighton, as well as the Champions League clash against Napoli, but there are some in Italy who feel he isn’t 100% settled over on these shores.

Inter Live have a rather strange article on their website claiming that Castagne could be a target for Inter in January, as the club look for more reinforcements on the flanks of their defence.

They call his start to his on-pitch actions at Leicester ‘not so exciting’, and feel the player ‘could look back with great nostalgia at Italy’, where he ‘launched himself into great football under Gasperini’.

Described as a ‘real wild card’ for Simone Inzaghi, they do feel he’s ‘even more suited to the Nerazzurri plans rather than those of Leicester’.

They know an agreement would be needed with the Foxes to get a deal over the line, and that could prove to be the trickiest part in all of this.

It all seems a bit of a stretch, if you ask us, but it has started doing the rounds in Italy on Thursday, so in case you see it floating around somewhere, you know where it’s come from.
