It seems Wolverhampton Wanderers are still not tired of bringing Portuguese speakers to their squad.
According to Brazilian outlet UOL, the Premier League side have now made an offer for Grêmio winger Pepê. The website says this was an ‘informal’ bid made by Wolves representatives.
Meanwhile, outlet Correio do Povo brings a few more details. They say the Molineux club are willing to spend €15m on the signing, and add that talks should continue in the coming days.
Grêmio have just lost Everton Cebolinha, who moved to Benfica in a €20m deal, and Pepê is supposed to be his replacement this season.
That’s why the club plan to keep him at least until the end of the Brazilian League, which will finish in February due to the Coronavirus break.
The club had been in talks for the signing of Edinson Cavani, but since they’re unlikely to succeed, they’ll do their best to keep Pepê in Brazil.
