It’s not been a great week for Newcastle United supporters.

The much loved Rafael Benitez won’t be at the club next season, after the Magpies announced a failure to reach an agreement with the Spaniard.

So far there’s no new manager in place and no suggestion the club are on the verge of unveiling someone.

This all creates further doubt around Newcastle’s plans for the summer transfer window, both in terms of players leaving and arriving.

One of the summer’s possible exits has been Ayoze Perez, who has spoken repeatedly about a desire to play in La Liga. Thursday’s edition of Marca reports the forward sees a move ‘with good eyes’, and they suggest Benitez’s exit plays a part in that.

Whilst Perez has long been tempted to go, the change in manager could be the spur he needs to really push for things.

Marca say he’s an option for Valencia if they sell Rodrigo, however, there’s a problem.

The €30m it’s thought Newcastle would ask is deemed too high.
