It seems Yaser Asprilla could soon have a Colombian compatriot at Watford.

That’s because, according to reports from South America, the Hornets are interested in La Equidad midfielder Élan Ricardo.

The information is brought by RCN Radio journalist Guillermo Arango, who highlights the attention the 20-year-old has been receiving recently.

It’s said several clubs outside the country have been watching Ricardo, and Watford have shown the most interest.

For now, there’s no information on how much the Hornets would like to offer for the youngster, or even how much La Equidad would demand for his departure.

Featuring for the Colombian side this season, Ricardo has six goals in 17 appearances. He’s still to get a call-up from the Colombian national team.

Transfermarkt currently value the player at €550k, but we must point out that South American players are often vastly undervalued there, and usually end up moving to Europe for a lot more.

We now shall wait and see if Watford’s interest will be confirmed with an offer to sign the youngster in the summer.
