Eric Dier’s move to Bayern Munich from Tottenham will initially be on a six-month deal until the end of the season, with a one-year option to extend until 2025.

That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says that Bayern Munich will not pay a fee to Tottenham but instead pay figures based on ‘matches and achievements’ after a specified period.

Dier is on the verge of joining the German giants after the two clubs agreed a deal this week, with the defender keen to move on after not playing under Ange Postecoglou this season.

His contract at Tottenham is coming to an end in the summer and Bayern have moved to get him on the cheap because of that, with manager Thomas Tuchel determined to add a defender who can play in midfield.

Plettenberg has now provided the details of the move, explaining that the move will be a case of ‘transfer fee:€0’ initially.

Instead, Bayern have agreed a deal that will see them pay nothing up front to Tottenham and instead pay for matches and achievements down the line, with the total amount not expected to exceed €3-3.5m.

In terms of contract, Dier will be on an initial six month deal until the end of the season with an option to extend that by another year if things go well.

His move from Tottenham is now expected to be announced soon, with everything seemingly finalised and all parties agreed.
