Reports from Portugal today highlight Tottenham Hotspur interest in Sporting defender Gonçalo Inácio.

It’s newspaper Jornal de Notícias who feature a story claiming the Lions are doing their best to protect their players and avoid making any sales in the middle of the season.

Still, some of their stars draw big attention from the market, and Inácio is one of them.

The outlet writes that Tottenham had already shown interest in the defender in the past, and have now ‘come back for the signing’ as a substitute for Micky van de Ven.

Gonçalo Inácio’s price tag is very clear, as Sporting aren’t expected to let him leave if his €60m release clause isn’t triggered.

Jornal de Notícias claims that besides Tottenham, the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Manchester United all follow the player as well.

As newspaper Record writes about the centre-back, they claim Sporting are expecting to receive some bids for him in January, so that’s a sign for Spurs to take action if they really want to win this big battle.
