Even though Edouard Michut was on the verge of completing a switch from Paris Saint Germain to Sunderland, the transfer is now said to be stuck.

Outlets such as L’Equipe and Le Parisien report that a ‘last-minute hitch’ has stopped the move from being completed.

It’s said a disagreement between PSG and Sunderland is blocking the transfer ‘for the moment’, and there doesn’t seem to be a prediction of when will that be overcome.

The clubs had reportedly agreed a loan move, which the Black Cats would have had an option to make permanent for €5m. The process was so advanced that at the weekend, Michut travelled to England and passed his medical with the Championship side.

However, once the problem arose, the player took a flight back to Paris ‘in the last few hours’. Le Parisien make it clear that the move isn’t completely ruled out for now, but there’s clearly a serious issue stopping it from being completed.

With a couple days until the end of the transfer window, Sunderland now have little time to sort out that issue.
