On April 26th, Aftonbladet reported Leeds United could sign Rotherham United goalkeeper Viktor Johansson in the summer window.
It was also stated the 25-year-old was previously linked with Stoke City and Sheffield United, but the Whites could consider a bid for him.
A fresh report from Aftonbladet further backs up Leeds’ desire to sign the one-time Sweden international.
While Daniel Farke’s side are fighting for the promotion, Rotherham United are at bottom of the table, and have been relegated to League One.
Rotherham United will face Cardiff City this weekend and it could be Johansson’s last fixture for the Championship side. Aftonbladet states the Swede’s four-year spell at the club could come to an end quickly.
When discussing suitors, the report says Leeds United and Sheffield United ‘have shown interest’ in him.
Aftonbladet further state Johansson has a release clause of SEK 10m [€860,000], which would certainly be affordable for Daniel Farke’s side and the Blades.
As the clause is cheap, more clubs could join the race and it’ll be interesting to see where he will end up next season.
