The Swedish media today brings some pretty bad news about Chelsea target Roony Bardghji.
As reported by Aftonbladet, the Copenhagen player has injured a knee in training and will be sidelined for an extended period.
The story claims that his recovery is expected to take between nine and twelve months, meaning he’s only set to return to the pitch in 2025.
Copenhagen director Peter Christiansen talked a little about the situation, making it clear that the club are set to support Bardghji in this process.
“We all know Roony and everyone at the club wants to do everything for him.
“Right now he has to process this. But we know him as a dedicated and very serious footballer and we know he will come back even stronger.”
Chelsea have been chasing Bardghji for a quite long time, with reports back from 2021 linking the player to the Blues. At the time, the local media was already saying the club were ‘crazy’ about the ‘super talent’ he was.
Those rumours never disappeared, and in March this year, it was again claimed that the Stamford Bridge side had been lurking around to sign the 18-year-old.
Bardghji is still very young and will surely work hard on his recovery, Chelsea will have to watch and send their well wishes from a distance.
