French outlet Media Foot Marseille don’t mind sounding quite bitter when speaking of Boubacar Kamara’s summer move to Aston Villa.

The website features a piece claiming that after leaving the Ligue 1 side for a ‘juicy contract’ in the Premier League, he now starts to see ‘the other side of the coin’ at his new club.

The report claims there was hope Kamara wouldn’t leave Marseille this summer, since the club had just clinched a place back in the Champions League. However, seduced by Steven Gerrard’s offer to join Aston Villa, he ended up agreeing to the switch.

It’s pointed out that the player left a €2m yearly salary in France to make €9m per season at the English club. Still, it’s said his experience ‘is far from being beautiful’ with the ‘very complicated start’ in the Premier League.

Media Foot Marseille believe Kamara ‘might start to regret his choice’, especially given he picked Aston Villa, who aren’t having ghe best start to the season.

The midfielder is living the first few months of a contract which runs until 2027.
