Ever since the January transfer window, there’s a belief that Newcastle United are keen on signing Fabian Ruiz from Napoli.

This emerged when claims of the Magpies making a double approach for the Spaniard and Victor Osimhen came to light, as the club flex their new bottomless wallet on the transfer market.

The situation is very different for Everton, who are currently battling against relegation and could need to sell a player in the summer to meet FFP regulation, as Richarlison continues to be linked with a big move elsewhere.

That’s why, should a battle break out between Newcastle and the Toffees for Ruiz, there is likely only one winner.

The two Premier League sides are linked with the Napoli midfielder by Gonfia La Rete on Monday, who look at the future of a few players at the Serie A side.

Talking about the renewal of Kalidou Koulibaly, they then move onto the former Real Betis star, explaining ‘it will be difficult for Fabian Ruiz if Newcastle or Everton are really ready to cover the Spaniard in gold’.

While we firmly believe that the Magpies would be prepared to do this if Eddie Howe requests the playmaker as a priority this summer, the same cannot be said for the Toffees.

If they are to do anything, it will most likely be to apply a very thin layer of gold leaf on Ruiz, at best.
