Southampton’s Nathan Tella is close to sealing a move to Bayer Leverkusen after being spotted at his medical in Germany this morning.

That’s according to BILD, who ‘caught’ the winger after his medical check in Leverkusen this morning and provide photos and videos as evidence.

The newspaper reports that the Southampton man is ‘about to make a move’ to the Werkself, having flown in for his medical from England this morning.

They pictured the winger after those checks had been complete at around 1:50pm German time and report that a five-year contract with the Bundesliga side is now waiting to be signed.

Tella is the man Leverkusen want to replace Moussa Diaby, who moved to Aston Villa in a €55m deal earlier this summer and has left a hole that needs to be filled in Xabi Alonso’s side.

Tella will become their most expensive purchase of a busy summer and BILD report their information is that a deal for ‘just under’ €20m has been struck with Southampton for him.

He will be the third player to arrive at the club from England in this window after deals for Granit Xhaka from Arsenal and Matej Kovar from Manchester United.

The Germans had faced competition from Rennes, West Ham and Burnley but Tella has elected to swap Southampton for Leverkusen and a completed medical hints the deal is now close to being finalised.
