Many reports in the European media have largely ruled out Chelsea’s chances of making signings this summer, due to the sanctions currently hitting the Blues.

However, the process to find a new owner is ongoing and there’s a reasonable chance it will be sorted out in time for summer business.

On that note, Spanish newspaper Sport say signing for Chelsea is the ‘most desirable option’ for Eden Hazard, who isn’t entirely convinced about a move in the next market. The 31-year-old hasn’t found what he was looking for at Real Madrid, and the transfer hasn’t worked out well for either the Belgian international or his club.

Sport say Chelsea have been keen, although they mention the ownership issues currently at Stamford Bridge.

Once that’s sorted, it would be no surprise to see the claims of a Chelsea return increase, and there’s the chance a new owner would see signing the player as a boost to their start with the Premier League side.

Arsenal have also been linked, but Sport say the Gunners are having doubts.
