Even though initial reports claimed Paris Saint Germain midfielder Julian Draxler would be keen on signing for Crystal Palace, we now see a more pessimist take on this situation.

Back on Friday morning, French outlets claimed the player was ‘excited’ about the possibility of joining the Eagles, and would gladly accept seeing his contract with the Ligue 1 side terminated for that move.

Now as Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg brings his information, he claims that Draxler isn’t moving to Crystal Palace.

On Twitter, the reporter claims the Selhurst Park side were ‘very interested’ in making the signing and made inquires about him.

However, it’s simply said Draxler ‘won’t join’ Crystal Palace. It’s not made clear if it’s the player who chose not to make the move, or if the clubs couldn’t reach an agreement.

According to Plettenberg, the midfielder’s future ‘remains open’. He spent last season on a loan at Benfica, and doesn’t really seem to have a place in PSG’s squad for this season either.

With this rumour dying so quickly, we expect to see a bigger explanation of why the deal isn’t going through.
