Real Betis are making their move for West Ham United midfielder Pablo Fornals and ‘negotiations are being opened’ between the two sides over him.

That’s according to Estadio Deportivo and AS who say the Spanish side are moving for the midfielder, who has long been on their list of targets.

They explain that Betis have ‘accelerated’ to secure Fornals signature before the end of the window and are in the process of incorporating the West Ham man into Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.

Conversations with the player, his entourage and West ham are underway, and it is the latter who really need convincing on the transfer idea.

Fornals is ‘highly appreciated’ by Pellegrini, who worked alongside him at West Ham, and the imminent departure of Luiz Henrique has allowed them to move for him now.

The Spaniard has already given his approval to the move and the Betic club are now trying to minimise West Ham’s demand so that they can get Fornals for less than €8m.

They’re ‘accelerating’ their efforts and have made the Hammers midfielder a priority signing for several days after the player was a target for them in previous windows.

He’s open to the move and that could be decisive in the matter, although at this point Betis and West Ham need to work out a deal that they’re both happy with.
