Ivan Perisic is unlikely to leave Tottenham for Hajduk Split before the Croatian deadline this evening, despite them considering a move.

That’s according to Sport Klub, who say the Croatian winger ‘will definitely not come’ and instead suggest a move in the January transfer window is more likely.

Perisic had been expected to leave Tottenham this summer as they rebuilt their squad under Ange Postecoglou.

The winger had been a regular under former manager Antonio Conte and something of a favourite of the Italian’s, but it was felt that would not be the case under his replacement, who is focusing more on younger players to develop.

A return to Croatia, as opposed to a switch to Saudi Arabia, has been mooted for months but Sport Klub say that won’t be happening.

They report that while the player is one being eyed by Hajduk Split, who want to add a winger to their squad as they are not satisfied with their current options, they won’t be making a move for the Tottenham man before their deadline tonight.

According to their information, Perisic ‘will definitely not come before the winter’, suggesting that a move in January could be on the cards instead.

Perisic will be in the final six months of his current contract at that point so Hajduk will be free to negotiate a pre-contract ahead of a free transfer in the summer, so perhaps that is the plan.

Either way, he won’t be moving today, and it seems will instead be remaining at Tottenham until the beginning of next year at the earliest.
