Last week, the English press revealed a long list of Premier League sides who would be following Atlético-MG midfielder Bruno Roberto.

A report from the Daily Mail said that Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur would all be interested in the 18-year-old, who has just broken into the first team.

Now website UOL managed to speak to Bruninho’s agent, Fabio Mello, who works with the former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva. The duo are the agents of Manchester United midfielder Fred.

Mello has confirmed that some big clubs have been watching Bruninho lately, but apparently there have been no official contacts with Atlético so far.

“He is being monitored by the clubs, through the scouts that are in Brazil,” Fabio Mello told UOL. “Nothing official, this is a job that the great European clubs do with mastery in South America.”

UOL writes that Atlético currently have a ‘project’ for Bruninho to grow at the club, and that’s why they’ve recently given him a five-year contract.

“This is already part of a project presented by president Sérgio. We have made a new contract for Bruninho with this objective. The project is in progress”, said Mello.

The report doesn’t say how much would be needed to take Bruninho from Atlético, and couldn’t confirm which of the clubs are most interested in him. Perhaps we’ll have to wait for Chelsea, City, United, Liverpool and Tottenham to check the scouting reports before the January market.

Jose Mourinho’s side would be helped by the Fred connection, having signed the midfielder just last summer.
